After completing the portrait unit, students look at taking their portrait skills and developing the creative process of photography in Photoshop. Students study the art of creating a Double Exposure print and how this process developed (pun intended) before the digital age. Students look at different combinations of photographs and I allow them time to experiment to try and figure out what types of combinations work and which do not.
Students practice capturing the personality of their models in their portrait photographs. This is a great practice for most students to step outside their comfort zone and get others to relax in front of the camera. Students look at different light sources and how lighting can dramatically change the emotional quality of a photograph. |
